‘As an artist and a gender advocate, I am fearless and passionate about everything I do, and am working towards building a global community that is equally free & fearless to take action against violence and stand resilient for love and humanity.’
Supreet is an award-winning writer, filmmaker, author and social entrepreneur, whose work sits at
the intersection of cinema, human psychology, and social change. After spending over fifteen years in corporate leadership with the United Breweries Group, she chose to dedicate her career to storytelling, creating films inspired by true events that challenge social stigmas, explore the complexity of human behaviour, and celebrate resilience.
As Co-Founder and CEO of Red Dot Foundation, an internationally recognised civic-tech organisation working on gender equity, safety and justice, and Co-Founder of Beyond Black, a social enterprise using art for social good, Supreet has spent over a decade documenting thousands of
lived experiences of violence, discrimination and resilience.
This extraordinary body of human stories forms the foundation of her cinematic voice, bringing an authenticity and emotional depth to every narrative she creates.
A trained counsellor and Yoga Acharya, she combines an understanding of the human psyche with her experience as a human rights advocate to craft emotionally layered characters and stories that resonate across cultures.
Her directorial debut, Bouddi, represented India at the French International Film Festival, won Best
Director and Best Film, and was officially selected at more than seventeen Indian and international film festivals. The film established her distinctive voice as a filmmaker drawn to intimate, emotionally complex stories rooted in lived realities. Her short film Nirbhaya Main Asifa Main received the Best Director Award for its powerful silence visualising violence against women.
Beyond narrative cinema, Supreet has directed commercial films for leading brands, including Amul, and her creative collaborations have earned international recognition. Bioscope Stories Vs Bollywood, created with Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, was nominated for the Glass: The Lion for Change at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. More recently, Infinite Saree, created with Klick Health, received global acclaim, winning fourteen Clio Awards, including the Grand Clio for Women's Health, and a Cannes Lions Silver, demonstrating her ability to blend powerful storytelling with cultural impact.
A published author, her poetry collection Wine | Love | Tango explores themes of love, loss and identity, while her She Is series, She Is - 75 Women in STEAM, She Is - Water Sheroes and She Is - 75 Women in Chemistry, celebrates extraordinary women in science, chemistry and environmental leadership whose stories have often remained invisible. Supreet has been recognised globally as a Vital Voices Visionary, BMW Responsible Leader, 100x Fellow, Aspire Fellow, and Siemens Stiftung Fellow. Her contributions have also earned her honours including the Web Wonder Woman Award from the Govt of India, the FICCI FLO Woman of Substance Award, the Josh Talks City Champion Award, and the Social
Innovator Leadership Award.
Her Journey has been captured here and her Podcasts are available on Saavn, Spotify,
HubHopper and Amazon where she speaks of her journey.
